Jennifer Hudson Cries While Testifying at Murder Trial

Grammy and Oscar winning singer and actress Jennifer Hudson testified on Monday that she had known the man charged with killing three members of her family since they were in middle school together but never liked him.

After numerous dismissals due to the high profile nature of the case, the final jury members have now been seated in the murder trial for the man who allegedly killed Jennifer Hudson's mother, brother and nephew.
The jury of 12 people and six alternatives, which include an acrobat and a retired Chicago Transit Authority dispatcher whose son is a shooting victim, were seated on Tuesday to allow the trial of William Balfour to begin.

Jennifer set the stage for the prosecution in its case against her former brother-in-law, William Balfour, charged with fatally shooting her mother, brother and nephew in 2008. Hudson was the first witness.
Her voice cracking with emotion, Hudson, 30, told the Chicago jury that she had warned her sister Julia against marrying Balfour.

"None of us, myself, my mother, or my brother, we did not like how he treated her, and I didn't like how he treated my nephew," Hudson said. Balfour, married to Hudson's sister Julia Hudson, did not treat Julia or her son, Julian, well, Hudson testified. "I would tell her (Julia) over and over again not to marry William," she said.

Now crying, Hudson stopped for a moment and composed herself.
Balfour, who was estranged from Julia at the time of the killing, is accused of committing the murders while allegedly in a jealous rage over what he thought was another man in Julia's life. Balfour has pleaded not guilty, and his lawyer has said there is no forensic evidence tying him to the murders.

Hudson testified about the harrowing day of October 24, 2008, when she learned that her mother and brother were dead and her nephew was missing. She flew home to Chicago and identified her mother and brother's bodies at the morgue. On October 27, she was back at the morgue to identify her nephew's body.

Julia Hudson separated from William Balfour in February 2008, Julia Hudson said, and three months later he begged her to come back. When she said she could not, Balfour said he would kill her family, she testified. "If you leave me, you'll be the last to die," Julia Hudson said Balfour told her. "I'm going to kill your family first."

The day before the murders had been Julia's birthday, and prosecutors said Balfour had been enraged at seeing at the house balloons bought by another man for Julia. The trial has brought a swarm of national media to the historic Cook County criminal courthouse.

What do Justin Bieber and The Wanted have in common — besides being crush-worthy young singers, of course? They both have been snubbed by Christina Aguilera on "The Voice." Parker is not alone in his opinion. His fellow bandmates echoed Aguilera's behavior, although not as harshly. "She was quite rude," agreed Siva Kaneswaran. "Who does that?" Added Max George, "She was a bit scary, to be honest." Two weeks before their "Voice" appearance, The Wanted also performed on "American Idol" and had a completely different experience with the sexy female judge on that show, Jennifer Lopez, who is arguably an even bigger superstar than Aguilera. In fact, George gave J.Lo a smooch on the cheek during their April 5 performance, which she seemed to enjoy. And during an afterparty following the show, she even granted his request for a photo and posed with her arm around the up-and-coming young singer. When asked to compare Lopez and Aguilera, George said, "J.Lo's hot, Christina's nothing special."

Aguilera's nasty attitude is nothing new. Kelly Osbourne has been very vocal that the "Fighter" singer, who has packed on the pounds in recent years, tormented her when she was heavier. "She called me fat for years," the slimmed-down "Fashion Police" star revealed last year. "I was never that fat."

After her Bieber diss, Aguilera claimed that she was merely suffering from a case of Bieber Fever … although euphoria, not rudeness, is usually a symptom.

She finished her look with bright pink and orange heels by Cesare Paciotti, a down tousled 'do, and smokey eye makeup.

Megan, 25, styled the skirt with a sleeveless white top with a black accent for her February appearance on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno." She also left her dark hair down, but accessorized with Brian Atwood footwear.

Both of these women really shine in this glitzy garment, so choosing a winner this week is tough! Selena's look is flawless, and the two-piece outfit is appropriate for both someone of her age and for a fun event where people routinely get slimed. And don't we all wish we had a waist like that?! On the other hand, Megan stuns as usual in her retro-styled ensemble. What it comes down to, then, is whether this look will be memorable for either of the ladies, and for me that answer is clear: no for Megan, yes for Selena. So I say Selena edges out her competition for the win! Do you agree?
